Operator Training Program
In 2007, 11 East Bay water and wastewater agencies came together in an effort to train new, certified plant operators. The agencies contracted with Solano Community College to bring courses from the school’s accredited water/wastewater technology program to the region’s treatment facilities.
Today, a total of 18 agencies from Contra Costa, Alameda and Solano counties sponsor the Bay Area Consortium of Water & Wastewater Education (BACWWE) program, offering no-cost, college-level training to students interested in a career as treatment plant operators.
